Are there membership fees?
Not at this time. You only pay for what you purchase. No hidden fees.
Will I have to buy vegetables I don't want?
Unlike some co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Locally Grown you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want. The weekly email lists the produce available that week, and you can browse the items on this website before you place your order.
How do I order?
Each week a list of available products is sent to all of our registered customers by e-mail. My current harvest schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It is best for me if your order is in the day before, however I will do my best to accommodate same day orders as well. To place an order click on The Market page. We can take orders by phone or message however ordering through this web site is our preferred method as it is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes us to process orders as well as reduces the chance that I forget what you ordered.
When do I pay?
We accept cash, checks, debit or credit cards.
When you place an order, you are committing to paying for those items ordered. We take payment in several ways:
1. You can pay into your account in advance and draw down over time. This can be done online in your account by card, or in person by cash or check. This is a very convenient method, since you only have to think about it every once in a while.
2. Pay online by card when you place your order. Card will not be charged till order is complete.
3. Pay via cash, or check when you pick up your order.
There is a 3% fee for payments by card.
If you fail to pick up your items, you are still expected to pay the amount due.
When and Where do I pick up my order?
Our hours are Monday Wednesday and Friday 3 – 7 PM. If you need to pickup your order outside of normal business hours let me know and I will do what I can to accomadate you.
Pickup location is here at our farm at 2980 Highway 3345 Ezel KY 41425
Why Support Locally Grown?
Enhance your local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local growers you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses.
Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.
Provide learning opportunities: Locally Grown supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.
Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.
We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.
What happens if I forget to pick up my order?
Oh no! I forgot to pickup my order! Now what?
Well, I’m sorry we missed you. If your items are still here the next day and we do not hear from you your items will be sold or discarded! We do not have a means to keep items for a long time, or to deliver them to you. If we were able to reach you on the phone, we may be able to work out an arrangement, but otherwise, your items will be sold or discarded.
You are still responsible for paying for items, even if you do not pick them up. We’ll charge your account, and that amount will get added to your next order.
Can I order even if an item is sold out?
Should I order even if something is sold out?
We estimate how many items we will have available each week (for vegetable growers this involves looking at the live plants and guessing what they will amount to once they are harvested). Sometimes these estimates are off from the actual amount that is available. If a vegetable is “sold out” but you would like to try your luck you may go ahead and order it anyway. If the item is actually not available you will not be charged for it.
What if I am not happy with the quality of something I have ordered?
Satisfaction is guaranteed or you have the choice of getting your money back, replacement product or you can select similar value of other available product. You can reject something you have ordered if you are not satisfied with the product quality. We welcome all feedback, and negative feedback is especially important to ensure high quality and customer satisfaction. If you find hidden quality problems after you get home, contact us as soon as possible. Please let us know about problems even if you do not wish for a refund.
What should I do if I need to cancel my order because something came up?
Let us know as soon as possible.
Call us at 606 359 4860 and I will cancel your order. If this happens frequently you will lose this option.
You are still responsible for paying for any items you order but do not come pick up if you do not cancel your order. If this happens, I will charge your account, and the total will be added to your next order.
Can I donate used produce boxes, bags, etc.?
We appreciate if you bring us clean grocery store bags, waxed produce boxes, onion bags, berry boxes etc. Also please save and return any boxes if possible. Thank-you.
